About Checkers Game

Checkers is a classic two-player board game played on an 8×8 grid with alternating dark and light squares.

Players move their pieces diagonally forward, aiming to capture the opponent’s pieces by jumping over them.

The objective is to capture all of the opponent’s pieces or block them from making any moves.

How to play Checkers

Movements:

• Players take turns moving their pieces diagonally forward along the dark squares.
• Regular pieces can only move forward, but upon reaching the opponent’s back row.
• They’re “kinged” and gain the ability to move diagonally backward as well.

Capturing:

• If an opponent’s piece is diagonally adjacent and there’s an empty square beyond it, you can “jump” over it to capture it.
• You must capture if you have a valid move, and multiple captures in a single turn are also possible.

Kinged Pieces:

• Once a piece reaches the opponent’s back row, it becomes a “king”
• That piece gains increased mobility, allowing it to move diagonally forward or backward.
• Kings can also perform captures in any direction diagonally.

Winning:

• The game is won by either capturing all of the opponent’s pieces.
• Or by blocking them so they can’t make any possible moves.
