About Chess Game
Chess is a strategic board game for two players, played on an 8×8 grid. Each player has 16 pieces, including a king, queen, rooks, knights, bishops, and pawns.
The goal is to checkmate the opponent’s king. Players take turns moving pieces, applying tactics and foresight to beat their opponent.
How to play Chess
- Movement of the Pieces: Each piece moves uniquely. The queen move in all directions, bishops diagonally, rooks horizontally or vertically, knights in an L-shaped pattern, and pawns forward with an option to move two squares on their first move.
- Opening Moves: The opening sets the stage for the game. Aim to control the center with pawns and minor pieces, so as to advance while safeguarding the king.
- Playing Tactics: Mobilize pieces to active squares. Castle early to secure the king’s safety and connect the rooks. Recognize threats and opportunities on the board. Consider pawn structure, piece activity, weak squares, and potential pawn breaks.
- King Safety: Keep the king secure by castling and maintaining a solid pawn shield. Avoid leaving the king exposed to threats, as a vulnerable king can quickly lead to defeat.
